Our founder
Where clinical experience meets practical oversight.
Dr. Lasean M.G. Hardy is an anesthesiologist and healthcare strategist with nearly twenty years of experience, and the founder of Sapphire Management Group. Her work has centered on outpatient surgical centers across southeastern Michigan, where she brings clinical judgment to the operational decisions that shape care. She has served as Medical Director and Chief of Anesthesia at DMC/Tenet Sinai Grace Hospital.
That experience is what Sapphire is built around. Having sat on the medical director's side of the signature, she understands what surgery centers are actually asked to demonstrate — and how much of a director's time goes to sorting through records that are already in order.
A native of Chatham, Ontario, she moved to the Detroit area as a child. She earned a B.S. in Cellular Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan in 1996, attended the University of Michigan Medical School, and completed her anesthesiology training with the University of Michigan Department of Anesthesia in 2004.
Her commitment to community health began in college, when she partnered with the American Heart Association to lead a Heart Walk. As Medical Director she went on to chair Project Healthy Living for five years, in partnership with the World Health Organization and WXYZ Channel 7. The Michigan Chronicle recognized her leadership with its Women of Excellence Award in 2014.
Dr. Hardy is a charter member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Psi Delta Omega Chapter in Ontario, Canada, and serves as Chief of Staff of the International Region under Carrie J. Clark. She is a member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and the University of Michigan Alumni Association.
